Can anyone advise how to set up Konqueror so that folders always open in Detailed List view?

I have tried but so far have not found the commands to set this up.

One other thing - Virus Protection - I am running Mandriva 2006 - and found nothing on virus protection in the set up instructions - I have heard that linux is very secure - should I install virus protection?

Thank you for your time,

ernie

Ummm.. will take a look at this later when I fire up Yoper (in some hours. The only box I have with KDE) and tell you about it, unless someone answers this before. :)

You don't need virus protection with Linux system in general. However, it is nice to add it (e.g. Klamav/clamav), in case you want to save your friends from getting viruses. If you get infected mails and forward them, others will receive the virus, although you won't be harmed in any way. If you forward mails on a regular basis, then install an anti-virus toolkit, and show that you are a nice and responsible person. :)
