tyme
Open a terminal (i.e. konsole) and run: gnome-font-properties you can change settings for your gtk apps there (font wise). be sure to switch to "Subpixel smoothing (LCD)", this will make the fonts look a lot better on LCD screens. iphitus
If you can find it, install the gtk-qt theme engine. It allows GTK apps to use your QT (KDE) themes and settings Even if you dont want to use your QT themes on your GTK apps, this engine provides a easy to use control panel in the kde control center to set your gtk fonts and themes. iphitus

tyme
you could have also added: gnome-settings-daemon to your kde startup.
iphitus
you could have also added: gnome-settings-daemon to your kde startup. it'd fail because KDE runs its own session manager, and there can only be one at a time.
