scarecrow
Just take FrostWire, from the project site... it's the same as LimeWire, minus content filters for unauthorized content. YOu can always start it like /usr/bin/frostwire and get all the Limewire functionality, plus a few things more. scarecrow
/user/bin/limewire This will not open, of course... It's "slightly" different than /usr/bin/limewire Also, take care of your keyboard case... Edited March 18, 2006 by scarecrow

mtriley98
I tried to install limewire and I get simular results. If I open a terminal (Konsole) I get this: [mike@mandyone ~]$ limewire /usr/bin/limewire: error: Failed to set JAVACMD /usr/share/java-utils/java-functions: line 127: -mx32m: command not found [mike@mandyone ~]$ su Password: [root@mandyone mike]# limewire /usr/bin/limewire: error: Failed to set JAVACMD /usr/share/java-utils/java-functions: line 127: -mx32m: command not found [root@mandyone mike]# I'm using mandriva one with the 2006 repositories, I googled for -mx32m and didn't find the answer. So I went to bed with the intention of looking into this further, but the road to apollon is paved with such intentions. Sorry I couldn't help beyond letting you know I can duplicate the problem. Cheers
bonebags
ok m8, im glad(in a way as i thought i was doing something wrong) someone else is having the problem
scarecrow
Both of you: What happens if you type java -version under konsole?
mtriley98
[mike@mandyone ~]$ java -version bash: java: command not found [mike@mandyone ~]$ java -version bash: java: command not found [mike@mandyone ~]$ su Password: [root@mandyone mike]# java -version bash: java: command not found [root@mandyone mike]# Well how 'bout that, can't run a java app without java. I figured urpmi would take care of that, I'll get something from the sun site and see what happens.
scarecrow
The Sun binary and/or RPM will need a few post-installation steps (setting the binaries to a system PATH, symlinking the browser addon to your browser's plugins folder...). You can get an RPM precompiled for Mandriva 2006 here
