Guest cid
I know I can play this with Mplayer, and they play superbly well, very good buffering and everything else. But is there a way to save a stream? In Windows, there was an app called Hinet Recorder that could do this. Bascially, what I'd like to do as a command line representation (of course I'm ignoring all switches here, but you get the gist) Save the wvx to the local system. % mplayer stream1.wvx > stream1.wmv And have the linked wmv saved on the local machine. mtweidmann
I know its a bit of a cheat but you could use a seperate recording app, something like krecord. Just set the correct channel to record.
Guest cid
I'll have to try it when I get home... It would appear that you can use a very simple mplayer switch(es): -dumpstream (MPLAYER only) Dumps the raw stream to ./:stream.dump. Useful when ripping from DVD or network. -dumpfile <filename> (MPLAYER only) Specify which file MPlayer should dump to. Should be used together with -dumpaudio / -dumpvideo / -dumpstream. Guest SDMF
Yeah, that's what I was going to suggest. Never used it before, but I've used -dumpaudio to save the audio track from video files. According to what the man page says, -dumpaudio should theoretically work for streams.
Guest cid
Can't seem to get it to work yet... Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but using -dumpstream hasn't yielded me any saved files. I'll have to keep at it and update you. D
