Guest entropy
Hi ... i've installed Mandriva 2006 (the 1CD mini install) and have gone through installing all the bits and pieces, RealPlayer, mPlayer, BMP etc., and RealPlayer plays all the usual ram, smil etc., but when i click on a streaming video link at c-span.org for instance, it tells me the above message (rtsp is not a registered protocol). In XP i would know how to check rtsp, but where can i "register" it in Mandriva? I've looked around. Thanks for any info.. danny
devries
I think you´re using Opera as browser right? Open the settings menu, applications and add rtsp and connect it with a video player.
Guest entropy
Using Firefox actually, i guess i could use Opera if its easier to setup for rtsp .... ?
scarecrow
On Firefox you should try a player plugin- here's a good one, for example: http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/ If the full win32-codecs pack for mplayer is installed, Real Player is not needed for anything particularly useful. For konqueror, there is kmplayer (IMO currently way better than kaffeine) which provides a kpart konq plugin, serving all types of videostreams, including real streams, quicktime ones, MS media player streams as well...
