Ixthusdan
You may be better of getting a newer version of the os, although the laptop uses an Intel chipset, which should even function on older kernels. Not finding the cdrom after booting means that a) the cd data is corrupt or b) the install kernel cannot understand the chipset. You might also try booting with noapic nolapic to see if that might be interfering with the install kernel. Guest dem0n
I have this problem with linspire too. The cd is fine works on my desktop. What is the newest version? Mandriva 2006?
Ixthusdan
Yes, 2006 is the most recent release and is available for download or can be purchased from Mandriva. Newer chipsets are always a potential problem, if they are introduced after a release.
