phunni
I recently lost most of the files in my home directory. I already had Return to Castle Wolfensteing installed on my system, but I get complaintswhen connecting to a multiplayer server about files missing in my ~/.wolf directory - especially relating to punkbuster. Does anything need to be put here, and if so what?
phunni
BTW punkbuster is installed :)
johnnyv
the .wolf directory is where the pb files are kept /.wolf/pb/ [john@bob john]$ cd .wolf/pb [john@bob pb]$ ls dll/ pbag.so pbclold.so pbsv.so pbweb.log scrnshot/ svss/ htm/ pbcl.db pbcl.so pbweb.dat pbweb.x86* svlogs/ [john@bob pb]$ but the directory should be recreated when you start wolf if it was deleted. I had it stop working on me and the only way i got it fixed was to do a full reinstall, i was able to use the pbweb.x86 manual update program but that was a pain as you had to do it every time you wanted to connect to a server. phunni
Hmmmm - I do seem to have those files installed - but I'm still getting problems. Is there anything else that should be installed under ~/.wolf? I tried to run a local server so that a friend of mine could play a quick game with me - but if I ran the server from Linux, it failed - he would get kicked all the time. When we ran it from Windows (with me playing as a client on Linux) all fine
johnnyv
try downloading the manual update utility from evenbalance (the turkeys who make pb). pbweb.x86 is the file, make it executable, stick it in your .wolf/pb/ folder and run it. then start up your game and try to connect to a pb enabled server. http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbweb.x86
