Guest fogcat
I have a Best Data modem with it's own DSP (not a softmodem) that will work just fine w/Knoppix 4 and 3.8. When I try with Mandriva 2006 it is not available. I try to use the ACM option in PPP configuration and try to query the modem I receive a "modem is busy" or "cannot open the modem" message. I am not a neewbie nor am I an expert in linux, just someone who has an idea what he is doing "just enough to be dangerous" if you will. I have tried several flavours of linux (debian derivitives, etc...) and used to use Suse from 8.* to 10.* . Now I have to use dialup and cannot seem to manage other than a live CD version. I will not tolerate that. What cann I do? fogcat Edited February 4, 2006 by fogcat
