bigjohn
Having just got kmail set up, because I can't work out how I get kpilot to run Thunderbird, whenever I open it (as just kmail or kontact), I keep getting this damn annoying "welcome to mandriva linux" mail i.e. I open it, delete it etc, but when I start either kmail or kontact the bugger reappears. Anyone know where it's stored and how I get rid of it ??? TVM John Edited February 3, 2006 by bigjohn
devries
There is a topic on this board that describes how to remove it. You need to delete a file somewhere. Only I can't find that topic right now and I have to go. I'll look later.
AussieJohn
AS ROOT go into ... /usr/share/mdk/mail/html and also /text and delete the text file mail.en in both places. save in each case. Hope it helps. Cheers. John.
bigjohn
Thanks for that devries and AussieJohn, that seems to have done the trick. For anyone else I just went into the files that AussieJohn suggested and did the delete via System>File tools>File manager - SuperUser mode did the delete. Theres still lots of other files in those two directories, so I'm guessing that they're for the same message but in other (non-english) languages - judging from the file names. regards John
