Guest nomenklatura
Please let me know if I am being a retard.. I would like to copy some files from a bunch of subdirecotries leaving the original directory intact. In other words, I want to scan down a directory structure looking for files with a given name and copy them over somewhere else. You would think this would be covered by some sort of -r combination, but I have no idea where to start... Maybe it involves using the find command? if so I really need help because that command is the clumsiest command ever. thanks in advance! Gowator
find . -name "*.ttf" -exec cp '{}' $HOME \; This will search for *.ttf and copy them to your home directory.
