No xorg on reboot

I installed mandriva, and I rebooted, and it took me to a command prompt. I tried "startx", which returned that I was missing a "screen" section in my xorg.conf file. I checked, and it was indeed an incomplete conf file. I can re-create it based on my xfree86 conf file under debian (which I am also running), but does anyone have any clue as to why this would happen? :help::furious3::wall:

What kind of video card? If this is the first boot after install, it may be that he file was not configured correctly during install. As root, type "x -configure" at the commandline to generate a new file. I would not use the XFree86 file, except as a reference.
