Guest Bmanz Posted December 15, 2005 Share Posted December 15, 2005 Please don't flame me because I know you should not login as root. I am trying to get remote access in a test environment. I have ssh setup and can login as myself (regular user) however not as root. I have modified the sshd_config file to say "permit root login yes", however it still denies access. aioshin Posted December 15, 2005 Share Posted December 15, 2005 if you are using mandriva, in console as root #draksec it would open draksec gui.. see attached try to allow remote root login by changing the value to yes... actually, have'nt tried it myself, since I tried not to allow direct root login or remote root login.. so please post if that works... It seems if you are using "higher" security level then you cannot login as root with SSH client. If you set that to "high" level then you can get in as root with SSH client.
