bigjohn
Mandriva 2006 says that I need libgtkextra-x11-1.1.so.0 as a dependency of gnubg. Where do I get it, or does anyone know whether it's part of a different package that I can install??? regards John
mtriley98
Found this in 10.2 devel contrib ftp://ftp.phys.ttu.edu/pub/mandrakelinux/...2.1mdk.i586.rpm the rpm has the file you need. I was able to install gnubg after I installed that rpm. Cheers
bigjohn
Thanks for that mtriley98, that seems to have done the trick - ish. I played a couple of "test" games, and when I'm winning, it seems to crash/close for no reason, but I have other problems, with my new install of 2006, so I'll worry about that later! regards John
daniewicz
Have a look at this post for the crashing problem: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=29514&hl=gnubg

bigjohn
Replace the existing files in /usr/share/gnubg <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks again daniewicz. I thought it would be something like that, but try as I might, I couldn't find where "it" was - how stupid of me regards John

Where do I get it, or does anyone know whether it's part of a different package that I can install??? regards John <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In the future, here's the quick way to find out if it is available localhost:/# urpmf libgtkextra-x11-1.1.so.0 libgtk+extra-2_1.1:/usr/lib/libgtkextra-x11-1.1.so.0 libgtk+extra-2_1.1:/usr/lib/libgtkextra-x11-1.1.so.0.0.0 localhost:/# if it returns nothing try shortening it localhost:/# urpmf libgtkextra-x11-1 localhost:/# urpmf libgtkextra-x11 if you get nothing at this point it means it is not available in your sources. Add sources. When you find it (as above), just urpmi libgtk+extra-2_1.
