laan97ac
I get this error message every 5 minutes: Window opens with the following text ********************************************************************* The application KDE Daemon (kded) crashed and caused signal 11 (SIGSEGV) A application mostly receives the SIGSEGV signal due to a bug in the application. The applicationnnn was asked to save its documents. You might want to send a bug report for this application. Check if listed on http://bugs.kde.org, otherwise mail the author. Please include as much information as possible maybe the original documents. If you have a way to reproduce the error, include this also. ********************************************************************** I can find some mentioning of it on bugs.kde.org but nothing really precise. Any tips?

Gul Dukat
I had the same problem. You should try and uninstall Kat, the desktop search-engine. It solved my problem. You can easily remove it via MCC.

scarecrow
Alternatively, you can touch nothing ATM and urpmi gdb The next time you have that crash, the window will give a rich debug report instead of the previous short one. This will help to find out if kat is REALLY the one to blame for your KDED crashes (although most likely it is, I have no reason to doubt what was posted above).
