Guest AngeLeo
HELP! I've just installed LE2005, Everything runs well, no errors shown. When I start using thr "linux" option, it brings me to a login dialog box. This is where the problem starts. I've not set any username or passwords. I've never login before. It's a clean installation and I can't login. This is very bad. Not very user-friendly. I badly want to try Linux. I couldn't intall YDL so Mandriva's my next choice. Can anyone help ASAP? thks
jboy
From your boot menu, select the failsafe menu option. You will then be brought to the command line as the root user. Enter the command: drakuser From there you can set up your user accounts. Then shutdown and reboot with the command: shutdown -r now
tf1
Hi, When you installed 2005 you were prompted to enter a password for root and at least one user. Try logging in as root and enter the password you must have set. Once logged in create another user account through configure your computer option in the start menu. good luck
scarecrow
YDL and next Mandriva... I guess you're installing on a MAC? If you are SURE you didn't set any password @ installation stage, type at the logon screen user: root password: none (just hit enter) ...and go on. Then do mind creating a user, it's very bad, security-wise to run your graphical environment as root.
