Since I installed Linux a few months back, I still need to press the qoute button twice before it appears to screen. I was ok with that until recently I started learning assembly language.

It seems that these 2 characters are not recognize as normal ascii by Assembler(asem-51). I do heard that this could be due to the Xorg not functioning. If that is so how do I go there (to the setting page). I would be nice to have these buttons as ascii with a single push.

I wrote my assembly in kwrite, my desktop/monitor/keyboard are NEC. Here are uname -a on my system ¨ Linux localhost 2.6.8.1-12mdksmp #1 SMP Fri Oct 1 11:24:45 CEST 2004 i686 Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00GHz unknown GNU/Linux¨
