Guest juanstiller
Hi, im trying to learn permission topic on linux, and i have this newby question, but i want to learn it for once, now i undesrtand the basic permission system that linux use. But in the case of a website running on apache server, apache is running with the user apache and group apache. Correct me if im wrong, but the website is only going to be read by apache, when some person access it on the net. Eventually if i put lets say a form for persons to fill that form and submit it to me, it will still be apache the one that handle this process. So the question is, wich is the propper way of setting the website permission on /var/www/mysite? i setted it as read by user , write by user . Is this ok, or i have to allow group and others to read, write , and execute only that directory containing my site?? Thanks. Juan.
