i have a 4 cd version of mandriva LTD edition 2005,When installing it first asks me to choose a mouse and i av tried every1 and none ov them work.???

so i decided to install anyway and configure mouse later, but then on the next step i get a msg saying installing drivers, it stays on this 4 ages then an error msg comes up, this is it:

insmod'ing module sata_nv failed at /usr/bin/perl-install/modules.pm line 324

it then asks me for other devices but never works, all i get is: No valid devices were found to create new file systems.

I have 2 sata hard drives and have set up them up as JBOD on both ov the raid controllers i have on my motherboard, and have also tried it without a RAID setup.

why cnt it find my hard drives??? or is it that it does not have the correct drivers to work?

Thank You

:help:

Try this: at the boot splash, hit F1 and type "linux noauto" on the command line.

Next problem will be the huge list that comes up. You'll need to know what the sata RAID device is that you have. Check the specs of your computer/motherboard.

According the page I found when I googled, the autodetect is having difficulty finding the correct sata driver. This is a method for manually selecting the sata driver and not allowing Mandriva to look for one.

I have no idea if it works, but the reported errors seem to indicate that Mandriva is attempting to install an nvidia sata driver and it is not installing, possibly because it is the wrong driver. More hardware information isneeded to say more.
