B) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From what I understand, you need some kind of network bandwidth controller for Linux to cap amount of traffic. I know of two tools. 1)Trickle: I have used this tool during my grad school projects. It works entirely in userspace. No root access is required. You can find more information on the link below http://monkey.org/~marius/pages/?page=trickle trickle is already present in urpmi repository. Just do 'urpmi trickle'. 2)Traffic Control (tc): This is present as a part of iproute package. However to use this feature, you need support for the Kernel/User netlink socket in your kernel.
