Guest linuxhousedn@yahoo.com
Hello everyone, I am running a mandriva le 2005 , kde 3.4.2 setup. i noticed that ( even with older versions of kde also ) on the Desktop, u cant seem to space out the icons to see their full names. Settings via KDE control center -> components ->file manager -> height for icon text (3 lines), width for icon text (1000 pixels) doesnt seem to work. Any body ever got this working? Thanx. AussieJohn
Hi linuxhousedn. I just tried using the setup you proposed (and it is the correct one) and tried changing to 4 lines at 800 width and have checked that I can now read fully all my MP3s that have long names. I knew how to change it but never bothered to do so. I may just keep the change permanently. It definately works so I cannot understand why not on your machine. Instead of selecting 1000, try around 750 to 800. It could be a bug at 1000 on your system but I just tested using 1000 on mine and it was no different to the 800. Very mysterious. A warm welcome to MUB. Cheers. John.
