blackhat101
Just wondering what is the major difference between 2005LE dl edition and the 4 gig commercial DVD version?
arctic
The commercial edition has proprietary drivers and codecs and such things included. For legal reasons they are not included in the free download edition, but they can be installed into the system nonetheless. It just needs some tweaking. AussieJohn
Note also that the commercial CDROM set of 6 disks is exactly the same as the dvd version. Cheers. John
blackhat101
Okay thanks, so things like Acrobat reader are not on the free version. Same kernel and same aount of window themes Ie: kde, Gnome, fvvm2, twm.
arctic
Correct. ;) Plus e.g. NVIDIA drivers, some ATI drivers, some modem drivers are missing. But you will get all desktops with the Mandriva package (depending however on the release you choose. Discovery only ships KDE afaik, but everything else can be added using easyurpmi).
