Guest rafalku
I got a dream machine and nighmare installation. I have dual Opteron 275 (dual core, so quad way system) on Tyan K8W mobo with 4GB of RAM (although I can't never see more than 3GB: another problem). Uses internal LSI-MPT SCSI controler. I installed 2005LE x86_64 with no problem. But the system froze very early when booting. When initializing one of the CPUs it panics with something like: Aiee: Killed Interrupt Handler. I finally got it to boot with maxcpus=1 options and runs fine. Of course this disables 3/4 of the power on this machine :( I tried recompiling the kernel, played with APIC and ACPI options and some bios options: no go. So what gives? This is a very good mobo (kernel.org folks use it too). 2005LE x86 seems to work fine in SMP mode (although I had some trouble with the SCSI driver in that distro used IDE disk then. I dont thing it is related though). Thanks, rafal
