Jza
Anyone knows how to record audio from the commandline. Even more anyone knows a wave editor from the command line. I want to be able to record in realtime wave files with a set parameter and also have some noise reduction (optional). The most important thing is that they can record wave and I can pause the recording and continue later on. ecasound seems to do this, but I am not completely sure how to use it. I wonder if there is some other thing I should check out and also wonder if there are things that usually found on gui programs like audacity. I find the comand line more robust and less prone for errors.
jboy
Well, you're supposed to be able to use rec and sox for this. Download the sox package if they're not already installed. There are man pages for them. Audio card has to support full duplex. BUT, I never was able to get these to work. I could get them to create output files, but they were just static. Don't know what the missing ingredient is. Maybe you'll have better luck.
