klipp
Initial install (from either the Mandrake CD's or the Boot .iso CD) hangs when it gets to the point where it is "Enabling PCMCIA extension cards...". Message is Please wait.... Enabling PCMCIA extension cards.... ! No way to proceed, can only power machine down. Machine is a new Toshiba Satellite M45-S165 Laptop. How can I get around this and proceed with the installaion?
devries
Try with: linux noapic acpi=off (hit F1 at the bootsplash instead of enter)
klipp
Thanks for the reply devries, That didn't work, possibly because I'm entering it wrong. To get the the graphics to work I need to enter "vgalo". So I'm entering at the prompt -- vgalo noapic acpi=off It still hangs the same way. Any other ideas?
