aru
if not what are the command line commands? man rpm man urpmi et al sory for being so rude, but before start messing your installation you should know what you are doing ;)
bvc
Why not just find a cooker site with, hopefully, the correct deps, that you can add to urpmi? KDE is finicky and I think you'll find a lot not working if you do too much or any forcing with kde. JMO.
illogic-al
Why not just find a cooker site with, hopefully, the correct deps, that you can add to urpmi? KDE is finicky and I think you'll find a lot not working if you do too much or any forcing with kde. JMO. because Too much cooker is a bad thing. It's better to use the stable packages when possible which is why unless I want something specifically from cooker I disable it in the rpmdrake sources. The cooker packages since they are newer are automatically chosen as updates if they happen to be dependencies of an older package. Sometimes this is good and sometimes you restart you system and wonder why your fonts don't show up any more and why X is "respawning" too quickly. bvc
illogic-al, are you suggesting that rpm -f is better than cooker? I know you're not. I was simply suggesting an alternative to rpm -f. I see now that kde3.1 has been released so the question is c_m_f...why are you trying to force off the CD's (kde3.03) if the stable pkgs are available for the apps you want? illogic-al
hardly ever use the command line rpm command. Hell until a couple days ago I didn't even know there was an update command. So as for rpm -f no I'm not suggesting it's better cuz I've never used it. If it's worse than cooker (and I can't see how) how so?
