Guest abrownz Posted August 8, 2005 Report Share Posted August 8, 2005 First, off I am completely new to Linux and and having some trouble installing it on my machine. The problem is when I run the install on the machine from a DVD iso i burned it starts the DVD with the install welcome and I press enter then it load for a sec and gives a a fatal error. Now i think my DVD my be bad since i downloaded the entire iso file from mandriva, 2046mb it think, but when the download is done the file is only 60.6 mb and i was wondering what the problem was. I think that the error in the install is due to this lack for files, or whatever on the DVD. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Try downloading and burning the iso again from a different location and see if that fixes the problem. You also might want to check the md5sum of the downloaded iso before you burn it to make sure it matches. The second post in that thread will tell you how to do it in Windows.
