coverup
I would like to be able to open webpage links to pdf files in one click. That always worked for me in previous versions of Mandrake. I use Firefox as the browser and Adobe Reader 7 for reading pdf files. How do I change MIME settings for this to work?

coverup
Just click on a link, a popup will appear asking you what program to use to open te link. Choose acrobat reader. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought so. Instead an empty window pops up with the word "Done" in the status bar, and that's all. I may have done a not very good thing - I have copied preferences file pref.js from one machine to another. Anyway, there should be an option somewhere to set default applications and behavior. Does anybody remember where can this option be found? Edited July 22, 2005 by coverup

coverup
In firefox, it's under settings, properties, downloads. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah-ha! Firefox (the latest version 1.0.6 from mozilla webcite) could not locate the acrobat reader plugin because that plugin was not installed. The fix is to go to Preferences->Downloads->Plugins and uncheck PDF plugin (or install the plugin as per Adobe instructions, if you like having PDF files open in the browser window). I take that the problem is Solved and therefore I marked it as one - Artificial Intelligence
