fuzzylizard
Boy, lots of questions. are there any vector based graphical tools for it Yes there are vector based drawing tools available for Linux. Kontour - http://www.koffice.org/kontour/screenshots.phtml Sodipodi - http://sodipodi.sourceforge.net/index.php3...ion=screenshots Sketch - http://sketch.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html are there any photo editing suites avalible eg. Photoshop There is the Gimp - which stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is similiar to Photoshop, but not nearly as powerfull nor as easy to use. However, it does exist. Also, photopaint exists for Linux as well if you can get it installed. If you do a search in the forum you will find the instructions and a download link. are there any 3D appz avalible 3D appz fall into two categories: free and expensive. And there is nothing in between. Free: Blender - http://www.blender.org/ Expensive: Maya - http://www.aliaswavefront.com SoftImage XSI - http://www.softimage.com Houdini - http://www.sidefx.com There is nothing comparable to 3DS Max for Linux. However, if you only want to play, then head on over to sidefx com and download the apprentice edition of Houdini. You can then head on over to www.3dbuzz.com and download some intro videos to learn the app. and also do windows/adobes fonts work with linux.... Some will work and some will not. However, I am not an expert on fonts. I believe that true type fonts will work, but I am not sure about postscript fonts. Hope that helps.
