xoox
Hi. I installed OO1.1.4 (including security updates) and the necessary Chinese i10n and help RPMs. The ~/.i18n (generated by localedrake) looks like that: LANGUAGE=zh_CN.GBK:zh_CN.GB2312:zh_CN:zh GTK_IM_MODULE=scim LC_ADDRESS=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_COLLATE=zh_CN.UTF-8 QT_IM_MODULE=scim LC_NAME=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_MEASUREMENT=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_TIME=zh_CN.UTF-8 LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_IDENTIFICATION=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_MESSAGES=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8 LC_TELEPHONE=zh_CN.UTF-8 CONSOLE_NOT_LOCALIZED=yes ENC=utf8 LC_MONETARY=zh_CN.UTF-8 XIM_PROGRAM="scim -d" LC_PAPER=zh_CN.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM But OO.org somehow does not seem to make use of the LANG settings. I tried it with another language (German) and it worked well. Also starting OOWriter from the console with: oowriter --lang zh_CN does not work. The menues are only displayed in English. I remember there was a similar problem with a prior version of OO.org from Mandrake. But at that time, at least starting it from the console worked well. Is Chinese language support still (and even more) broken in the Mandriva RPMs?
yochenhsieh
Hi.Is Chinese language support still (and even more) broken in the Mandriva RPMs? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uh, I can only answer your last question: no. At least, the Traditional Chinese (zh_TW) OOo RPMs still works fine(and even better). Have you tried remove ~/.OpenOffice.org and run OOo again? xoox
Have you tried remove ~/.OpenOffice.org and run OOo again? After I removed this directory, at least the questions about the default file-format are in Chinese now. But the menus themselves are still in English...
