devries
It means you have to install the devel package for X. Open a console, log in as root and type: urpmi libxorg-devel For more background search the board for devel packages. Have fun playing :)
Guest johnboy1967
thanks for the quick response fixed one prob now got two.could not find libjpeg but urpmi says that the package is installed and also con error qt(>=qt 3.1.0 check headers and libraries.will search through this forum later to get info on other probs encountered(when kids are in bed).now i can see why they advise to get any download in rpms.still trial and error is the best way to learn.thanks again
devries
Header files are in devel packages. For (almost) every rpm there is a devel package. So if ./configure says it can't find libjpeg it means libjpeg-devel isn't installed (same goes for qt). :)
