I can't connect to mysql from external host

hi :

 

first excusme by my English :)

 

i am install a mandrake 2005 LE.

i configure a shorewall firewall rule to permit connect from 192.168.1.2 and works fine, i connect with webmin and putty well.

 

from my linux i connect and execute select estament and run fine, but with my windows xp dont connect to mandrake MySQL :'( .

 

And i try run a telnet to port 3306 and windows and linux (127.0.0.1) and dont connect.

 

before i have a mandrake 10 and run...

 

some idea to solve it?

Mandrake 2005 LE

IP : 192.168.1.3

MySQL : 4.1.11

Shorewall : 2.0.8

 

Windows XP

IP : 192.168.1.2

I have already solved it

 

by defaulct... in the /etc/sysconfig/mysqld file are a line for not permit use mysql from external hosts (MYSQLD_OPTIONS="--skip-networking").

 

# (oe) Remove --skip-networking to enable network access from

# non local clients. Access from localhost will still work.

# MYSQLD_OPTIONS="--skip-networking"

 

 

I comment it and run fine. :D
