Guest BigShyBear
(newbie question) I am looking for a way to automatically execute a couple of smbmount commands when I login - I am converting myself from Windows to Linux and I have lived on Google for the last couple of weeks and I've found lots of answers for my questions, but this one I am stumped on. Running Mandrake 10.2 2005, I have created directories /home/mike/Desktop/Sonya /home/mike/Desktop/Echo /home/mike/Desktop/Gonzo I have been manually running smbmount statements after I login (e.g. smbmount //Sonya/video /home/mike/Desktop/Sonya uid-777) what I have been looking for is a file I can put these commands in that gets executed after I login, but only when I login as 'mike' not when I login as root or any other user id. I am lost here - any suggestions? [moved from Software by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]

ramfree17
if you are booting into runlevel 3 (console prompt) instead of (GUI), then it would be more logical to put thoe in either ~/.profile or ~/.bash_profile. just my thoughts. ciao!
