adolfix
IBM supports Red Hat. A Value Added Retailer sells Debian on the AS400 from IBM. They create two partitions, one for the OS400 and the other for linux. Two ethernet cards are required, one for each OS. Some firms have already running linux on this machines together with the OS400. Could any one tell me if Mandrakelinux can run on a AS400 ? If so, could you tell me where and what for ? Thanks in advance
adamw
What kind of processor is in that?
Gowator
What kind of processor is in that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It doesn't really work like that for mainframes. The older ones (720-740's) are IBM 216x and even older 2130's etc. newer ones are power 5 but you don't see it because its a virtual machine. adamw
That's more or less what I thought, but I wanted to check :). MDV can run on conventional computers with i586 and x86-64 processors officially, and unofficially on machines with PowerPC and Sparc processors. Anything more exotic is probably out. We're not like Debian, we don't run on your toaster. Sorry. :)
