Mandrake 10.2, DKMS, ATI video driver, X

I just installed Mandrake 10.2 on a Dell Precision M20 laptop. It has an ATI FireGL Mobility 3100 video card. My goal is to get hardware-accelerated OpenGL to work.

I installed the dkms-ati module which installed DKMS, kernel-source, and whatever other dependencies were required.

After some tinkering, managed to ensure that the DKMS-ATI module was added, built, and installed into the DKMS.

What do I need to configure so that X starts up and uses this new driver? Can I select this new driver via XFdrake, and if so, what will it be called? Or, do I need to do this by editing xorg.conf ?

I'd appreciate any help,

Michel
