Guest froinlavin
Ok, I've tried looking for a solution and I havnet found one yet. Anyway, I am trying to use Amarok 1.2 after a recent install of KDE 3.4 on Mandrake 10.1 If I load Amarok as a user, it always starts up with an error that whatever output engine I use does cannot play mp3s. I configure the output engine again, and it has no problems in playing anything. I quit, restart Amarok and the same message always comes back. Ive tried using arts, gstream, and the xine plugin. All do the same thing. However, if I boot amarok from a terminal window logged in as root, it loads fine with the arts engine with no errors. SO... where should I look for permission problems? (I am assuming thats the issue) Tanks! Tom
devries
Sounds like an Amarok problem. Try the latest version 1.2.3. I doubt it is a permission problem. For me amarok starts up correctly (i use the arts engine) but whenever arts crashes I have to reset the arts engine in amarok for it to play. (and try renaming the amarok config file :) )
