Kjel Oslund
There are two plugins in the jre/plugin/i386 directory, one for mozilla/firefox compiled with gcc 3.x and one for mozilla or firefox compiled with gcc 2.9. I have jdk1.5.0 installed so the directories are ns7 and ns7-gcc29. Which one you use depends on which version of mandrake you are using. If you have 10.1 later, use the plugin in ns7 NOT the one in ns7-gcc29. If I recall correctly, the directories in jdk/jre 1.4.2 have different names, but the same rule applies. BTW, its not necessary to link the plugin into the /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox<version>/plugin directory, you can also use /usr/lib/mozilla/plugin and all versions of mozilla and firefox will pick it up. If this still doesn't fix your problem report back, you likely have bigger configuration problems.
