Guest yewkongthoo
I have downloaded the mandrake linux 9.2 free edition ( 3 cds ), I would like to set it up as file server in my home. But I can't find any config panel or wizard to support this. Does this edition include this feature or I need to do it manually? thank you sorry for my dumb question , im a new user of linux.... aioshin
I have not yet tried NFS, they say its good to use if your boxes are all linux... but if u have a windows in your network, well, you have to use samba server in you linux in order to share and save files from your windowz to your linux box... I think you have tried that already.... maybe you should try visiting www.samba.org.. a lot of info there also... you can try ssh server of your linux when transfering file, you just need an sftp client software for your windows... Guest yewkongthoo
can i configure samba server thru graphical panel? coz i know 0 about linux.... im currently using gnome, the documentation i downloaded from mandrakelinux.com does not explain on how to set up this. It mostly focuses only setting up client desktop.
