Kernel update dependencies

Recommended Posts

Hi I am a dual boot and I need to update my kernel to install my modem. The issue is that this kernel is not updated to 10.1 (still from 10.0) so what I need is to update it, I download the RPM but asked me for bootloader-utils 1.9.

My question is if there any other rpm I should be download, since I need to reboot each time and I am also in dial up, this process could be really time consumig.

Urpmi takes care of dependencies. Just do urpmi kernelxxxx and it will tell you what packages are needed. I'm afraid there is not other way to tell what packages are needed.

Thats the issue, I cant use urpmi from windows, I can only get on line from windows cuz my linux partition dont detect the modem. The linux driver for my mdem can only run once I update the kernel.
