Yugi
Ok so how do i now which tty/com to set it to, either of the ones you listed? By Usr external, do you mean the modem, the modem is external. Is the TTYsx assignment have anything to do with the tty/com, or how do i change that. Qchem
It might be worth using kppp to interface with your modem, always worked a charm for me.

Yugi
Do you mean use KPPP in a special way or just a normal way because I have no problem setting up the connection, I just can't get my Modem to be recgonised It's LED Light isn't on and that means according to the manual , the drivers arn't installed. Qchem
What modem is it exactly? What interface does it use. I ask because true exeternal hardware modems don't usually need any special drivers.

daniewicz
I used to use a US Robotics 5610B internal PCI modem on Mandrake 10.0 before I switched to DSL. This modem is a hardware modem and requires no drivers.
