Im completely new to Linux and have just instakked 10.1 on an old machine to have a go.

All went well with the install but on rebooting I get a load of "OKs" and then asked to log in to local host.

Putting in my user name and password I get what looks like an e mail address.

What am I doing wrong please or where do I go from here?

Thanks

Brian

hi there :)

a basic question: how much ram do you have, and which graphic card do you use? normally, you should boot into a graphical login, not the command-line login (although both work equally well). in case you have problems with the graphical interface not being setup properly, type XFdrake at the prompt. this will start a tool to set up your graphic-card and your resolutions.
