Since Thursday I have following problem: When I try to shut down system, it automatically switches from "progress bar" to "text mode" and then stops at "stopping alsa". I tried to wait a couple of minutes, but it seems that the system permanently crashes and I have to switch off PC with the button. Very annoying. What happened and how can I fix it? arctic Posted January 30, 2005 Report Share Posted January 30, 2005 have you already updated your system with the last patches? if not, go to easyurpmi and update your system as explained there. if the error is still there after the update we need some general hardware information. what sound-card do you have? do you have more than once soundcard?
