Guest ryphelon
Hi, I am using Mandrake Linux 10.1 CE as my Host Operating system on VMWare workstation 4.5. I am installing the VM Ware tools. However, I am using the linux command line and during my installation, I am ask the question? *** What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include] *** My answer is: /usr/include/linux. Linux comes back with another question? *** The header files in /usr/include are generally for C libraries not for the running kernel. If you do not have kernel header files in your /usr/src directory, you probably do not have the kernel-source package installed. Are you sure that the /usr/include contains the header files associated with your running kernel [no] *** I entered [y]. This was not correct. I get another questions that says: *** the path "/usr/include/Linux" is an existing directory, but it does not contain at least one of the directory "Linux", "asm", "net" as expected. *** What am I to do and how do I answer this question. I am in the middle of my installation. Edited January 13, 2005 by ryphelon

SurfahBoy808
you need to install the kernel-source file of your particular kernel if you haven't done so already. This makes the initial /usr/src/include enter go through.
Guest ryphelon
I am in the middle of an installation. Do I need to exit from the installation and start over from the beginning or can I install the kernel-source file from where I am?
