Hello all

I have a problem with the Citrix ICA Client under Mdk 10.1 Official and

wondered if anyone had similar issues.

The situation is thus -

I need to use Citrix to connect to my employer's Citrix N-Fuse server so

that I can access internal applications from home.

To do this I've installed version 8 of the Citrix client for Linux from

Citrix.com. This allows me to access Citrix published applications from

within my employer's network quite easily using the client.

However, when I try to use the publically accessible N-Fuse server using

Konqueror or Firefox and Citrix ICA Client registered as a plugin, it gives

me an error stating "Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy

evaluation.". (I have a direct connection to the net, without a proxy.).

The frustrating thing is that I had this running perfectly under Mandrake

9.2! All I can think of is that it is something to do with the ICA Client

not been able to see the SSL proxy that N-Fuse passes it on to...(?)

I know that is not much to go on, but does anyone at the very least have

some idea or experience with this sort of thing?

Sorry for the cross post - also sent to MandrakeExpert, alt.os.citrix and alt.os.linux.mandrake!

Cheers

Ben

Hello again

Talk about doctor heal thyself - I have resolved this which I'll post for

your interest.

The cause of the problem was that during the installation the Citrix ICA

client installer complained that I did not have Mozilla or Netscape

installed - which I didn't. I thought that Firefox being installed would be

Ok, however it must not have configured the ICA Netscape plugin

(/usr/lib/ICAClient/npica.so) correctly based on that. So then whenever I

tried to use the Netscape plugin from Konqueror or Firefox it did not know

how to get the proxy/SSL information from the web browser correctly, and

hence spewed an error. Possibly.

Anyway, the fix was to uninstall the ICA client using the provided script,

install Mozilla 1.7 using urpmi and then re-install the ICA client. This

time it found that Mozilla was installed and registered the plug-in with

it. Using Mozilla I could then connect to the N-Fuse server correctly, and

also could do this using Firefox, but not Konqueror.

So if any Citrix people are reading this, you might want to include in your

installation script that Mozilla needs to be installed.

Cheers

Ben
