Guest undergn0me
Hello everyone, I am having a really weird problem with the nVidia drivers installation. I tried installing the 1.0-6629 driver on a Mandrake 10.1 install with the stock 2.6.8.1-10mdk kernel, and when I startx it seems like the nVidia logo gets frozen in the background and only new characters get printed on top of it. Unfortunately, I can't get a screenshot because the desktop is really inoperable. The funny thing is, I have tried to install the drivers on an Ubuntu 4.10 install (through some repository, not the official drivers) and it worked. Here is the xorg.conf I was using: # File generated by XFdrake. # ********************************************************************** # Refer to the XF86Config man page for details about the format of # this file. # ********************************************************************** Section "Files" # Multiple FontPath entries are allowed (they are concatenated together) # By default, Mandrake 6.0 and later now use a font server independent of # the X server to render fonts. daniewicz
Have you tried Option "NvAGP" "1" This would use NVIDIA internal AGP support if possible
Guest undergn0me
I have tried all the NvAGP options and they all gave the same (bad) result. Only NvAGP 0 gave a tolerable result, so I could get a screenshot (attached).
