Guest shazi Posted December 29, 2004 Report Share Posted December 29, 2004 ok this is a bad situation...more like pathetic..i just installed mandrake 10.1 on my laptop...im trying to restart my comp now and i dont know how to :( i have a logout option but that just logs me out...ive tried running reboot, restart, quit and a bunch of other commands that i dont wanna talk about. how on earth do i restart my stupid machine? Whenb you select logout from the menu you should get a pop-up box that offers 'End session only', 'Turn off computer' and 'Restart Computer' If you don't get that box, then go ahead and logout, and get yourself to a console, ctrl-alt-f3 will do the trick, and from there, hit ctrl-alt-del and it will reboot you. if you want to shut down instead of reboot, then you just hit the power button before the system is doen posting. Of course, that's just a temporary fix untill you can figure out why you can't shut down normaly Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
