Scott Thornley
Ok - a search of the web only left me with questions, and no answers that really helped me out. 1) Reality check - it is /etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf that is used by apache on 10.1. I can ignore /etc/httpd/2.0/conf/httpd2.conf. Assumption is correct or incorrect ? 2) I want to enable directory listing. An index.html file is viewable by browser when placed in a directory, but when removed, I get a 403 error, rather than a directory listing. There is no .htaccess file in this directory, nor its parents, all the way up to document root. I've seen information that mentions modifying the virtual hosts Vhosts.conf file, but the ones I've looked at on my system are all commented out. I can download files in the directory if I point my browser directly at them. Webmin is not being obviously helpful. Any help here? Qchem
IIRC you can add directory listing via the http.conf file, I have no idea which conf file is used on mdk however!
Zeos
In your httpd.conf, add "Options +Indexes" in the directory stanza that contains the files you wish to list...ie. <Directory "/var/www/html"> Order Allow, Deny allow from all AllowOverride None Options +Indexes </Directory>

When in doubt put something that will for sure cause an error such as loading the same module 2 times. (I always put some garbage on first line such as "QWERTY" restart apache vi service httpd restart or your fav method and if you get an error or warning referencing your horrid error in the config file. If you dont get any type of error your probably in the wrong file.
