SoulSe
Not a direct solution - but you can also try Gaim. It will connect to Yahoo (as well as msn, icq, aim - all at the same time).
a13x
If I remember well, Yahoo changed their protocol. Because the Linux version of Y! Messenger is quite old I think that's the problem. Try Gaim or Kopete. I recommed Gaim.

spinynorman
hari78 - I've merged your latest post into this thread. Tips & Tricks is not the forum for asking new questions - it's for posting tips and tricks. ;)
adamw
You're trying to install entirely the wrong thing :). Go to the 'start' menu, then configuration, system, packaging, Install Software. Search for 'gaim'. Tick the box, and hit install. Mandrake will ask for the installation CDs (make sure you have 'em handy) and install gaim for you.

Gowator
OK, well done is it working? I preferred lopete in the past but I found gaim is always faster to apply changes when msn or yahoo switch protocols. (Spiny thx for doing my job, Ive been really ill this week. )
