URPMI updates

Hi all - just a couple of questions:

1) - Are there any security updates for 10.1 Community Edition? - have used EasyUrpmi to add Main & Contrib repositories - but after a month of checking regularly there still isn't an "updates" respository on EasyUrpmi for 10.1 CE.

2) - In the absence of an updates repo. for 10.1 CE, should you just manually update the security advisory packages using urpmi/rpm? - would like to update libxpm4.

3) - Does anyone know when 10.1 Official will come out in a .iso format for general download?

Thanks for any help.

There aren't any updates for 10.1CE - you need to update to 10.1OE and then add and "updates" source. To do this, just go to easyurmpi and say that your system is 10.1OE. Add all three sources and then run an update. This will update your entire system to 10.1OE, and from then on you'll be able to get security updates.

A couple of people have found this borks their systems, but I had no probs...

if you check for updates (in 10.1 OE), do not forget to update your mirrors from time to time. otherwise your system might tell you that there are no patches available although there are dozens waiting for a download. ;)

There are security updates for CE, in a sense. Security fixes for CE aren't put in a separate Updates tree, they get put directly into the main directory on the mirrors. So long as you have a working Internet source for 10.1CE main, and you run urpmi.update -a and urpmi --auto-select every few days, you'll get updates.

arctic - the MandrakeUpdate tool automatically updates the hdlist for the source marked as an updates source. So long as you update using that, you don't need to do it separately.
