chris z Posted November 16, 2004 Report Share Posted November 16, 2004 if you're using KDE, go to Kontrol Center (IE: configure your desktop)->components->file associations. type mpg in the search box. go to the mpg file extension & check which program associated with it is at the top of the list provided. if mplayer is in the list, but not at the top, move it there. if mplayer isn't in the list, use the "add" button & browse to the mplayer executable to add it. the path to that should be /usr/bin/gmplayer. add it, "apply", then try a .mpg file.
