Memory allocation

Recommended Posts

is there a kernel parameter I can use to limit the amount of memory a user can use?

I have users on my system that are chewing up memory occassionaly, and I want to be able to control them, so that each user is only allowed to use a maximum of 100mb.

any ideas?

Hi

Did not check kernel parameters.

/etc/limits

(owned by shadow package here)

in witch you may set per user limits...

man limits

also

help ulimit

(bash builtin command)

more:

grsecurity kernel patch at

http://www.grsecurity.net/

bye
